No£¬If you wish to subscribe our service plan, you must have Cable or DSL
broadband service first.
Do
I need to have my computer turned on to talk on the phone?
No. Jephone service works independently
from your computer, so you do not need a computer. Additionally, your computer
does not need to be turned on when using Jephone. You do need to have a broadband
Internet connection.
What
types of telephones work with Jephone service?
Any touch-tone telephone can be used with the Jephone service. Corded and
cordless telephones both work well.
What
area codes do you have available?
To check number availability,
please go to Order Now to check.
Remember, Your area code no longer depends upon the physical location of your
phone. You can select a number in the available area code you find most convenient
for those you call, and call you.
Example:
If you live on the South shore or in Laval (cities in Quebec), you can choose
to have a Montreal area code, or a Quebec city area code. The area code is
independent from the physical location of the phone.
Can
I still use the Internet while making calls?
No problem. Your computer and
Jephone service can share your Internet Connection
Is
there a service contract between Jephone and customers? Can I cancel at any
time?
There are no contract restrictions between you and
Jephone. Although we hope you will be completely satisfied by our services,
you may cancel your service at any time without any cancellation fees. However,
we require a one(1) month notice. Please contact with us, dial 57 (JP) on
your phone, or go to Customer Service
send us a message to us. You must return Jephone's device within 14 days of
cancellation in order to get your equipment deposit refunded.Customer is responsible
for return shipping.
May I cancel my previous phone service at any time, after switching to Jephone?
If your internet service is provided by a Cable Company, you may cancel
your current phone service at any time. If your internet service is provided
by Bell's DSL, you need to contact with bell to cancel your telephone service
and change your traditional DSL internet service to dryloop DSL internet service.
There is no extra fee for the drylooop internet service. But there are some
DSL providers need you keep the traditional telephone service to get the DSL
internet serive. Before you subscribe our service, you need to confirm with
your internet provider.
How
do I install Jephone device?
| Step 1:
Make sure that all of your hardware is powered off, including Jephone
device, PCs, and cable or DSL modem. |
| Step 2: Connect
one end of an Ethernet network cable to one of the numbered ports on the
back of the Jephone device. Connect the other end to an Ethernet port
on a network device, e.g., your PC, print server, or switch. Repeat this
step to connect more PCs or other network devices to Jephone device. |
| Step 3: Connect
your telephon's cable (RJ-11) to Jephone device PHONE 1 port. If you bought
a fax machine line, connect your fax machine phone cable to PHONE 2 port. |
| Step 4: Connect
your cable or DSL modem's Ethernet cable to the Jephone device's Internet
port. Then power on the cable or DSL modem. |
| Step 5: Connect
included power adapter to Jephone device Power port, and then plug the
power adapter into an electrical outlet.The Power LED on the front panel
will light up. Please wait at least 3 min utill the phone light turn green
stablely. |
| Step 6: If your
internet provider is cable, then at this moment, you could pick up your
phone and listen for dial tone. Then your installation is finished. You
press "57" connect with our customer service to get your phone
number. That's it. Isn't it easy? |
Step 7: But
if your internet provider is DSL, Open your PC's web browser. click 192.168.15.1
Then you would see a window to ask you the username and password. Please
Enter admin in both the User Name and Password fields .
Click ok button. After that you can see
internet setup frame. According to the example, configure yours, after
you finished, click Save.
And then wait for one minite to see the phone light turn green stablely.
Pick up your phone and listen for dial tone. Then your installation is
finished.. You press "57" connect with our customer service
to get your phone number. |
How
do I reboot my device, if neccessary?
First, disconnect power of your Cable/DSL
Modem and Jephone device. Then connect the power cable into Modem first, then
wait about 30-60 seconds to connect the power cable into Jephone device.
And your phone should be placed four
feets away from Jephone device.
After
the installation, can I start to use my phone immediately?
Yes, you are able to make outgoing calls. Please press "57" to
contract our customer service to get your income phone number. It will take
up to 2 hours before you are able to receive incoming calls.
Compared
with the trandition phone service, How is Jephone's voice quality£¿
Our voice quality is the same as traditional phone service, even with internet
usage. However, heavy downloads, such as P2P applications, may cause sound
quality problems. We therefore suggest that you limit P2P download and upload
speeds to 90Kbps lower that your fastest speeds. Typical VoIP calls require
about 90 Kbps for best quality.
What
should I do with my Jephone service if I move ?
You may keep your number when you move
within your city. If you change city, please contact with us or go to customer
seriveto tell us to change phone number. There is no service charge for
that. If you still want to keep the same phone number, you may also do so..
Can
I keep my current phone number if I switch to Jephone?
No,we cannot offer this service at this time, since our competition refuse
to cooperate with us. But we will hopefully offer this service soon. We are
working hard to fix this problem, but cannot predict when this option will
be available.
Can
I change my service plan at any time?
Yes, you may change your service
plan at any time.Please contact us or go to customer
serice to
tell us what you want. Changes will begin the next billing cycle.
Does
Jephone provide 911 services?
At this moment, we are unable to provide 911 service. For the replacement,
we route the emergency to the local police office , please press "999"
on your phone and we route the ambulance service to the ambulance center,
get the service press "120".
